This gives the Rays 10 days to trade, release or pass him through waivers. This puts me a little more at ease as Gross, even though I’ve yet to see him play, can help out in the outfield. The Heater had the story first and you can read about it here.

Does a PEO Make Sense for your Business?

A Professional Employer Organization (PEO) specializes in handling all the responsibilities that come with employing people. It can be a great way to outsource the administration of payroll, human resources, employee benefits, regulatory compliance and worker’s compensation. By using PEO services for these kinds of administrative tasks, you actually save money and free up time to work on business-critical tasks.

But how do you know if a PEO makes sense for your business?

Most experts agree that if you employ fewer than 200 people, you’re an ideal candidate for PEO services. Most companies that use a PEO employ between 10 and 200 people. According to the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO), about 80,000 U.S. companies currently use PEOs, and the numbers are growing almost 30 percent each year.

The Bucs took their unbeaten home streak to six with a 23-20 victory against the Saints on Sunday but there’s still some uncertainty revolving around the team. It was a great showing of the defense, again, against the league’s best offense that featured some great play from the secondary. Ronde Barber apparently took the early season criticism personally that his game was falling off and has been on a mission to prove himself since. Barber didn’t get a pick this week but he tipped one into Cato June’s hands and still shows the ball skills that have made him one of the NFL’s best since he arrived. Teams continue to throw in his direction because the secondary is so good, not because he’s bad. With Buchanon, Phillips, Talib, Barber, Jackson and Piscitelli back there to combine for, in my opinion, the NFL’s best secondary, there’s not a whole lot of options for opposing offenses. They picked off Drew Brees 3 times Sunday and held the Saints to 20 points despite allowing 332 net yards. I was most impressed with the run play though, holding Thomas, McAllister and Bush to 37 yards total. The questions that still linger revolve around the offense (see my Gruden post)

If the employer acts intentionally or with reckless disregard for safety, you might be able to sue the employer in tort. In addition, if the injury is not the type covered under the worker’s compensation statute, you might be able to sue the employer in tort. Again, the basic rule is that you cannot sue the employer for negligence.Carol asks…Under workers compensation laws, can an employer refuse the employee medical attention at time of injury?I have an assignment (college class) to think of a WC myth, then prove or disprove it. My myth is…an employer can deny an employee medical attention if it affects production, etc.

He works for a construction company that does mine work i.e. building dams for mines in Florida. He operates a Pan for this company and was recently injured. He is feeling better now, but he hasn’t been released by the doctor.

A short background on how they run… If it doesn’t rain they work 10 hours Mon – Fri. and 8 hours on Saturday. If it rains they are unable to run at all, until it dries up some. We live in Florida and this is our rainy season. So they haven’t been able to run much. After him getting hurt his supervisor assured him as long as the equipment he operates is working that day they

Robert asks…When did people first start to use wanted posters? How effective were they in the beginning? What were some places where one would have been posted? And if anyone knows who some of the first people to appear on wanted posters were, that’d be good, too.Tampa Employee Leasing answers:They would have been posted in the post office, taverns, and train stations. Also in the town square!

I don’t know who were the first to appear, that would be interesting!Donald asks…What do you think about people first language?People first language is stating the person before the disorder/disability.
For example, people first language would mean saying “child with autism” instead of “autistic child.”
There are reasons behind this type of speaking, but I just wondered how everyone feels about it.
JaneB, you pinpointed the reason behind people first language exactly. Saying the person before the disorder/disability puts more emphasis on the person and less of a label on the person.
Thank you, Cicely, for your input. I’ve never really thought about it like that. It would definitely be helpful for people to get more input for people with disabilities. Thats what its all about.Tampa Employee Leasing answers:I don’t know that I agree with you. English is my first language and I don’t think I necessarily put the person first followed by the illness. I think I could easily use either example.
Perhaps, I might say to a teacher, “Do you have a child with autism in your class?” but I might also say to that same teacher “Is that the autistic child?”

For some reason, if I were talking to a parent, I would be more likely to say “Do you have a child with autism?” as it sounds little less harsh than “autistic child”.

Now that I think about it, I would say to the parent “child with autism” as it pays more attention to the child first and THEN the illness, whereas “autistic child” seems to label the child.Jenny asks…How did people of different languages

TE Anthony Becht was lost to the St. Louis Rams. Becht is primarily a blocker who signed a two year deal with the Rams.
The Bucs filled the void left by Becht by signing former Titan and, more importantly in our area, former Gator TE Ben Troupe. Troupe is an athletic TE who can block and receive and should be an immediate upgrade on offense. It’s reportedly a two year deal and contract details have not been disclosed. Hopefully this
